Cassius

Cassius, in the play "Julius Caesar," is a persuasive general who despises Julius Caesar and how powerful he is. From act one of the play, Cassius is portrayed as a manipulative person since he tried to persuade Brutus to feel the same way he does of Caesar. Not only does Cassius try to persuade Brutus, but it is evident that he also has ill intentions towards Caesar to try to rid him of his power. And according to Caesar himself, Cassius is a dangerous observer whom he does not want to have around due to his ambitious quality. Overall, Cassius is jealous of Caesar's power, which he believes he does not deserve, and is a character in the story who will obviously cause some trouble in order to be successful in his plans to make Rome, as he says, the best it can be for the citizens.
