Personal Growth

Photo of Boston. Taken from the Skywalk.

Over the past two weeks I have grown in my knowledge of history, art, and science because I went to Boston, Masssachusetts. In my two weeks there I went to various museums such as the museum of Science, the MFA, Harvard museum of Natural Sciences, the Freedom Trail, and the Skywalk at Prudential tower.

At the MFA, I learned about various artists ranging from the Impressionist period to Contemporary period. It was an enormous museum filled with art from Europe, the Americas, and the ancient world. At the Museum of Science, there were exhibits from medicine, biology, chemistry, and physics, and they have an exhibit on math too! In the Harvard Museum of Natural Sciences,  there were exhibits on the Americas, minerals, and animals. At the Freedom Trail, I learned how the United States gained their independence from Britain, and at the Skywalk I learned the history of Boston as well as overlooking Boston from the windows at the 50th level in the Prudential tower.

Boston was a fun and exciting experience! As well as gaining knowledge, I also gained weight from eating so much!

Personal Growth Over Break

The break came and went faster than it took to get here. I have personally grown academically, trying to learn whatever I've missed in algebra. Every morning I would wake up and do some math assignments that were assigned previously. I also did other assignments assigned before the break. I studied some subjects to help me catch up.

Over break I also practiced marching for marching band. I improved and learned new formations. I memorized more of the music and figured out how to march our show while playing. I learned how many steps needed to move to different sets and which way to go, so I don't run into other people.

That's pretty much all I did over break. I haven't grown a considerable amount, but I've grown a little. I plan to grow more as I grow older.

Personal Growth

Although Fall break felt like it came and went far too quickly, so much was achieved. Over the course of those two weeks, I have had personal growth in several different aspects.

For one, as odd as it may sound, I grew in the sense that I learned how to accept that there is still a child in me, and I should embrace that. I am still young and there is no need to grow up completely so fast. Disney World will do that to people!

Another way that I grew over the two weeks was finally deciding that I have to manage my time better with work, no matter how much I want to put it off. Being bored senseless is better than having a break down from stress at the end of break, while trying to finish everything at the last minute.

In addition to that, I grew rather significantly in my drawing abilities, especially while working with photoshop. Over the break, I probably did at least ten drawing on there, and messed around with different affects to gain a better understanding of how everything works.

Lastly, I grew by becoming more responsible with my sisters, giving up some of my own time to help my mom out. She needed a vacation a lot more than I did, but with the two babies I knew that she wasn’t going to get much relaxation in, especially since they were both just getting over being sick. Because of this, I decided to watch them as much as I could; playing with them, keeping them from getting into things, stopping Sophie from tackling Savannah, playing with them in the pool, getting up with them when they woke up in the middle of the night, taking them onto rides at Disney, and so on. I wish I could have helped out more, but I’m glad I at least assisted in allowing my mom to finally have some time to not be worrying about one thing or another.

Personal Growth Over the Break

These past two weeks of Fall Break were, sadly, fleeting, like a dream. However, they also seemed, in a way, like the longest two weeks of my life. I have learned so much and grown so much.

I grew a lot in regards to my marching band skills, both in playing the flute and in marching. I practiced flute almost everyday. While I am not yet at the level I would like to be at, I am slowly getting there and considering the short amount of time I have been playing the flute, I believe I am doing quite well. Over the break, we had two full-day practices and performed at the home football game the Friday of the second week.

I also grew in my singing. I sang a lot everyday, exposed myself to a wider variety of music, practiced my technique such as vibrato and singing notes out of my comfortable range, and worked on my music theory. My theory practiced helped me in areas outside of band and singing as well, and I learned several songs on the piano from sheet music as well. I experimented a lot on Garageband and made a few more recordings to be posted up on youtube soon!

My most notable and significant growth, however, would have to be my inner growth after an incident toward the beginning of the break where I let my heart get ahead of my head, which led to me ruining a lot of my break and getting grounded the whole time. I learned a lot about trust and making better choices and not getting ahead of myself. My parents and I are both adjusting to the fact that I am starting to grow up and become more independent now and this has made us both grow in our own ways. I am learning to become a wiser, more mature young lady. I want to make my parents proud.

In regards to literal growth, I'm pretty sure I grew a little, considering all the sweets I ate over the break...

Personal Growth During Fall Break

During fall break I have grown personally in maybe a not so academic way.  Before break I was stressing myself out with grades and trying really hard in school work to the point where I was extremely exhausted in class.  I was in desperate need of a break.  I started off fall break with a relaxing cruise to the Mexican Riviera.  At first, I was planning to do homework on the ship but I realized that I needed time to relax and have fun while I could.  So I did just that. Even the last week of break was relaxing.  I didn't rush with homework and I got it all done by the end of break. I've grown in terms of time management and balance in my life. And now I just need to continue this good time management and equilibrium of work and play.

Personal Growth

During the two week break from school the most growth I noticed was in football. I grew in the mental areas as well as the physical areas. Mentally I am remembering my plays better and thinking about my assignment, alignment, and technique a lot more than before. Physically I have noticed that I'm hitting a lot harder and improving my tackling techniques and it has shown because I have had at least 4 tackles in each game since break started.

2 Week Personal Growth

Over the past two weeks of break I have grown in many ways. The biggest and the growth I was impressed with the most was my growth in my archery skills. I practiced during most of the break and I improved an astonishing amount better. I can now shoot farther with greater strength and accuracy and I keep my groupings near the middle. Another way I have grown is that my neck is not in pain anymore and that I can now fully move it after being almost four full days without being to turn sideways. After getting plenty of rest and support from my family, friends, and pet chihuahuas I feel better than before. I have also grown academically in that over the break I studied hard to practice for the PSAT and did some English Accelerated homework for Mr. Salazar's wonderful Engish class.
