Personal Growth

Throughout the two weeks of Fall break, I have began to grow in my knowledge of greek mythology and began to learn new techniques in building muscles and strength in my body while working out. It had begun due to the first week of break, all i did was sleep and i began getting very tired and i told my older brother. So my older brother began taking me to the gym everyday and i began my workout everyday and he taught me how to lift weights correctly and all. I began getting very energetic and healthier as school came closer and when I woke up for the first day of school, I didn't die of exhaustion as i would usually. This began to become part of my daily schedule to take off stress as well as being a healthy.

Personal Growth

During our two week fall break, even if it was somewhat tiring and boring, I had some personal growth through an experience in an event. The event was the Filipino American Festival(FilAm) held annually at Paradise Hills. This year, some of my friends and I decided to volunteer at the event and at first, we just went to get community service hours for school but in the end, for me, I actually learned many things. My friend and I had two shifts, one from 3AM-7AM and the next one from 11AM-3PM, so 8 hours in all. We all woke up around 2AM and we were all tired from the sleepless night. We set up tables and canopies and we tried to watch the sunrise but we wrong timing but it was great to spend time with my friends and friends that I did not get close with until the set up early in the morning. For our next shift, we just greeted people coming into the festival. It was nice seeing people smile because of our greetings. We pretty much did that for the whole day going back and forth to both entrances of the festival. At the end of the day, I was very tired and of course, very very sore. I pretty much did not sit for the whole day and being out in the sun made me darker. My growth during this festival was the sense of culture and traditions. The theme for this year's festival was "growing up Filipino" and since I grew up here, I kind of got away with my sense of culture. It was nice seeing many things in the festival that related to my Filipino culture. Another growth that developed was the growth of friendship. Many of us OHS students volunteered at the festival and it was cool meeting some people who go to your school but you do not even know them and even people from other schools at well when we are volunteering. It was also nice seeing friends I haven't seen in years and I got to reconnect with them. The festival was tiring yet it was fun for me because I met new people and learned the sense of culture!

Personal Growth

My personal growth during the 2 week break was in ballet. Since i wasent going to school, i had more time to practice on things that i wasnt so good at and as a result, i am better at them now. For example, before, as soon as i got home from school i had to change and go to my calss. I didnt even have time to eat and so i was kind of weak during the class. And then when i got home, i had to do homework. So i really didnt have time to do extra practice. So during the break, i gained personal growth in ballet. Also, i know you told us that this assignment isnt about that but, i grew an inch!:D i am now 5'3 haha:P

Personal Growth

Throughout the fall break, the decathlon team went to San Francisco as a break from all the studying we do all the time. We were in San Francisco for 5 days and those 5 days went by way too fast. Bonds and friendships increased tenfold. I realized that the team is compromised out of the smartest and the best people at Olympian High School. My knowledge of art history increased due to the many museums we went to. This trip was one of the best experiences that I've had in my short life. It will be sad when all the seniors leave but I know that they will always be there. After the trip, I had to do tons of homework. I started doing homework right after we came back which I would not have done before. This shows how my work ethic changed due the stress-free week.

Personal Growth

Over the past two weeks of break, I was able to grow in my skills of time management and organization of stuff to do. Over break, I was assigned different homework assignments, I attended practice, and at the same time, I wanted some time to actually take a break. Before break started, I was a weaker in time management in comparison to the past two week growth. But once break ended, I believe that now I am able to organize my time more efficiently. With this skill, I think I would be able to improve on my homework and get better grades.

Personal Growth

Over the break, one personal growth that I went through was my piano playing. I was able to learn and memorize a piece quicker than I ever have before. Also, I was able to master another piece that I chose to play during my recital in December. It made me feel happy that I accomplished something and it was because I practiced everyday in order to do so.

Another way that I grew over the break was my responsibility in taking care of two puppies. My brother and I both share the tasks of feeding and walking them. This is our first time actually having dogs in the house so we still have more to learn.

Personal Growth

During the past two weeks of fall break i have grown in my kickboxing training. I started taking class with my brother 1 week before break started. At first i didnt understand the concept of the kicking, punching, and dodging, but thats why my brother helped me with it and i practiced it everyday. During break i excersiced alot to keep my body in shape. Ive been lifting some weights to get muscles on my arm when punching your opponent, and skateboarding to work on my legs for kicking. On the second week of break, i went to class and i improved on my formation and learning more to block around my face area. Another way ive grown was that i noticed im not as stressed, and ive been getting alot more sleep than i used too. after going to kickingboxing class 3 times a week, i get at least a full day of rest and i feel alot better than before.
