Dear Congressman Barrete:

It seems that the implementation of a Good Samaritan Law is being questioned. However, the state should not agree to this law because it can cause consequences to both the helper and the one in need.

There are many citizens in the U.S who do not have any experience with helping others. Their inexperience can worsen the problem and put the person in more danger, as well as putting themself in danger. The person trying to help may call 9-1-1, but it may already be too late when the police and ambulance finally come. Furthermore, citizens are not true good Samaritans if they are being forced and only doing it so they do not get fined or put in jail.

Thank you for taking time in your busy schedule to read about the concern of a Good Samaritan law.

Sincerely,

Veronica Ramos
