Blackout

It was around 4:35 on Thursday September 8, when Coach Warren stopped our practice and maid us get on a knee. He informed us that most of Southern California was in a blackout and we needed to get home and be with our families while things were being worked out. As we walked of the football field we were still uncertain about what was happening. But we realized that Coach wasn't kidding when we walked in the locker room and found that only about 4 or 5 lights were on. I couldn't get a hold of my parents so I went with Arturo Cuevas and he gave me a ride home. That ride home was long though because the street lights were not working and people were rushing to try and get home and that caused many traffic backups. I got home and everyone was in the backyard getting ready to eat some tacos from the grill. So we ate and then sat and talked for about 3 1/2 hours and we finally decided to go for a drive and we heard on the radio that power was starting to come backup. Our power came backup around 12:30 am on Friday morning.
