Plagiarism is a serious issue. It is stealing and stealing is a crime. That is one of the reasons why people should not plagiarize another person's work. Furthermore, the author of the work that a person plagiarizes from does not get the full credit that they should. In other words, it is not equitable if someone just takes their work and claim it as their own. The author most likely worked hard to create the text so no one should take it the easy way and copy that hard work. With plagiarism comes serious consequences, as well. Some of these consequences include expulsion, Saturday school, an "F" in their citizenship grade, and a referral.
