Good Samaritan

Being a good samaritan means helping someone out in their time of need, without them having to ask for it. However, should people be forced by law to give aid to these people? In my opinion, I don't think people should be forced to do it; what if they were unable to, or what if helping the person in aid will put themselves at risk or in danger? But I think they should at least still call for help, or give aid in some way. If one was forced to help someone, but didn't want to, it doesn't really make them a 'good samaritan'; the only reason they did it was because they had no choice. Being a good samaritan means helping someone out of your own compassion, not because you were forced. Therefore, I do not think this should be a law. People should just help others on their own, since it is the morally correct thing to do.
