A controversial school policy is not being allowed to wear hats, since it causes a 'distraction' to other students. Personally, I see no harm in wearing them during school hours, and it does not seem like a big distraction. It is just a way for someone to express themselves. I understand if it is during class time, but if it were during lunch or nutrition break, it should be allowed. It can provide students protection from the sun during those blazing hot summer days, or serve as a fashion statement. If students are allowed to wear Olympian caps, then why not other kinds of hats or caps? Personally, I see no difference. As long as they do not have anything gang related or negative connotations, I think students should be allowed to wear hats or caps to school.
