Acoustic Guitar

              The guitar is the most popular and used instrument in the world. It is used daily by many musician and used in many styles of genres. The top of the guitar is known as the headstock. The headstock consist consist of metallic colored machine heads and a bone or plastic nut. The machine heads are used to tune the strings of the guitar while the nut is used to separate the strings. In the middle is the neck which consist the fretboard, frets, inlays and the heel. Frets are thin metal strips along the fretboard that divide the scale length of the guitar. Inlays are designs to help the guitar player locate the tabs or notes. The heel is the back part of the neck that connects the neck and body of the guitar. Within the neck is the truss rod which is used to counteract the string tension and correct the curvature of the neck. The bottom half is known as the body. The body consist of the sound board which consist of the sound hole, bridge and sometimes a pickup guard for decoration. The sound hole is used to project the sound of the guitar. The bridge consist of the bridge pins and saddle. The bridge pins are used to hold down the strings and the saddle is used to for correcting the neck set angle and to prevent the string from touching the fret board. If the strings are to close to the fret board, the strings will buzz.
