Distraction or Advertisement?

No hats in school has been a controversial rule in Olympian High School. The school administrators believe that sporting hats in school is an issue of distraction. However, there is an exception to this rule which includes that students may only wear hats on campus if it is a purchased Olympian cap. Based on this information, I wonder how someone could come up with such a ridiculous rule. What is the difference between any type of hat and an Olympian one? In my opinion, if hats are a source of distraction, then it should apply to all types. This sort of exception encourages me to believe that this rule leans more towards a promotional advertisement rather than a school education issue because it forces students to purchase an Olympian hat in order to be able to wear one on campus. I believe that if the school wants to apply a "no hats" rule, the reasons should be focused on student education issues.
